Hands-On Self-Defense Training

Hands-On Self-Defense Training

Self-defense and combat experts know that success under pressure starts in the mind. The physical techniques and scenarios taught through B.A. SURVIVAL are purposely focused on deadly threats and worst-case scenarios in order to push participants to extremes in their thinking and responses.

Mental aptitude combines with brutally effective tactics and techniques for real-world combat preparation.

Classes can be customized to meet special needs such as women's self-defense and church groups or arrest procedures and extreme threat elimination.

Organizations and individuals that have participated in our training include:

  • Law Enforcement
  • Security Contractors
  • Special Operations Groups
  • Conceal Carry Weapon (CCW) Advanced Training
  • Church Security Teams
  • Corporate Security
  • Small Businesses and Non-profit Organizations

Our hands-on self-defense training is designed to be practical, effective, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. We use a range of techniques combined with strategies and tactics for real world operational success.

B.A. SURVIVAL is also willing to work under non-disclosure agreements if your group needs anonymity.

Note to Law Enforcement and Military Clients:

Been there! We get it.

There is a certain amount of risk when hiring a “martial arts guy” to train your personnel. Issue #1 – Many martial artists, good as they may be, do not understand basic USE OF FORCE issues or arrest SOP’s. Issue #2 – and this is a personal pet peeve – many well-meaning trainers come with the attitude that their techniques, style or system is the best thing since sliced bread and they want to convert you to their methodologies instead of being open to what you and your team already knows.

B.A. SURVIVAL takes a consultative approach; our mission is to add value to what you already know and are doing. For example, sport jujitsu and MMA are very popular in military and law enforcement circles right now. The job of B.A. SURVIVAL is to introduce you to variations that will take your training to the next level. Many sports jujitsu trainers have never been exposed to combat jujitsu or how to combine brutally effective tactics (things that are illegal in sports) with modern arrest procedures; weapons use and retention and an examination of long-term legal ramifications. Additionally, many sports trainers are ill equipped to train for Deadly Threat Survival; one of our specialties!

As a criminal justice major and ASP certified weapons/handcuff instructor, the founder of B.A. SURVIVAL combines nearly forty years of experience with conflict resolution expertise (soft skills) up to and including quick-kill/deadly threat elimination techniques (extreme hard skills) which were learned directly from Jim ‘Ronin’ Harrison. We can cover both ends of the spectrum and everything in between. For those who don’t know Mr. Harrison, he was commissioned to develop the down and dirty combatives of Green Berets and Delta Force and he also worked specifically with SEAL Team 5 to enhance their skills in deadly threat situations. His principles, tactics and methods have been proven in actual life and death combat – they are not theoretical.

For a trainer to walk into a SEAL Team or elite SWAT Team and infer they need to “switch” to the trainers way of doing things is both arrogant and certainly not an outcomes based approach. B.A. SURVIVAL will work with your organization to identify the outcomes YOU want and need. Additionally, we have access to other elite trainers who are experienced in training law enforcement, U.S. Special Forces, government contractors and anti-terrorist agencies.
